Neuro & Paediatric Physiotherapy

This combined department covers assessment and rehabilitation across the lifespan — from stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions in adults, to cerebral palsy, developmental delay and other childhood conditions in children — using standardised outcome measures, evidence-based facilitation techniques, and the ICF and F-Words frameworks for paediatric care.

Focus Areas.

  • Evidence-Based Task-Specific Training and Motor Relearning for enhancing functional recovery and neuroplasticity.
  • Advanced Functional Rehabilitation, including gait re-education, balance training, postural control, and mobility restoration.
  • Electrodiagnostic Evaluation with clinical exposure to electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and their role in neurological assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Specialized Paediatric Neurorehabilitation emphasizing early intervention, developmental therapy, and functional skill development.
  • Application of Validated Neurological Outcome Measures for objective assessment, treatment planning, and outcome evaluation.
  • Family-Centred Rehabilitation through caregiver education, home exercise programmes, and community reintegration strategies.
